JD Rivera Reflection

My Experience
Ants are very common, and are usually seen on food on the floor or on spilled liquid. People find it very annoying to see ants on a piece of cake that you just left there for five minutes. Ever wondered if they didn’t exist? Did you ever want to exterminate them, but not inhale harmful chemicals? We did!
As a part of our group, I did my part on researching the related literature associated with our topic, which was about dalandan peelings and calamansi extracts being made into an alternative ant killer. My researches specifically focused on their chemical components. I had a hard time with this because my groupmates also assigned me with knowing what species of dalandan and calamansi we are going to use. All in all, all of us did our part individually to have our output.
Just like any research, we also had problems. We had many flaws in our research and our presentation. It’s common with anything, since it’s our first time with researching.

Our reason for doing this research was to develop an insecticide to get rid of ants using local ingredients (hence, dalandan and calamansi). We also plan to reduce garbage and waste disposal, being that we are actually USING the dalandan peelings instead of throwing them away. Our product may benefit our community’s households because they are usually the ones that are affected by swarms of ants, infesting either their garden outside, or the insides of their houses.
